Ochto 8 Amplifier

Ochto is the eight-channel amplifier project within 3SB Audio.

One amplifier chassis is allocated per speaker where required. This keeps channel mapping predictable and preserves consistent gain structure across all acoustic paths, even when a 7-driver speaker leaves one channel unused.

The current implementation is based on Hypex NC252MP modules, which provide a practical combination of output power, density, cost, and passive thermal management for the target platform.

Chassis Strategy

The amplifier is built around a custom aluminium enclosure with breakout and power-distribution hardware chosen to simplify wiring and service access.

• 4 x Hypex NC252MP modules integrated into a custom aluminium chassis
• Breakout board to fan out Tascam D-Sub to the amplifier modules
• Power distribution board for internal mains distribution

The result is a reusable amplifier block that can support multiple loudspeaker projects without redesigning the electronics around each cabinet iteration.
